Audrina's iPod (#10InfiniteWeeks)

I tend to create playlists for every book I write. The songs I list are not only inspirational to the story but to the characters themselves. There are a handful of songs that are specific to a particular scene or feeling that a character is experiencing. Here are a few for Audrina Ashby:

"The Darker Days of Me and Him"
by PJ Harvey

This song was like a sign. There are a handful of PJ's hits that I absolutely love, but when this song came to mind, I was dead-set on using it to tell Audrina's story. A friend and I recorded the guitar parts to this song to use in the Three Sixty book trailer. The sound of it felt like a march. An anthem of sorts for what Audrina was feeling. Plus the lyrics are on point. If you've read the books, and are familiar with Audi's relationship with Paxton, it should make sense to you...

Promises, promises
I'm feeling burned
You taught me a lesson
I didn't want to learn

Why did I come here?
Please tell me again
Why did you ask me?
Don't say you forget

I long for, I long for
I long for my home
I long for a land where
No man was ever known

With no neurosis
No psychosis
No psychoanalysis
And no sadness

I'll pick up the pieces
I'll carry on somehow
Tape the broken parts together
And limp this love around

"Go Your Own Way" (Cover) by Lissie

The lyrics in this song resonate enough on their own. Again, this perfectly describes Audrina's feelings towards Paxton...

Loving you

Isn't the right thing to do
How can I ever change things that I feel?

If I could
Baby I'd give you my world
How can I
When you won't take it from me?

You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way

Tell me why
Everything turned around
Packing up
Shacking up's all you wanna do

If I could
Baby I'd give you my world
Open up
Everything's waiting for you

You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way

"The Longer I Run" by Peter Bradley Adams

The song is what plays in the back of my mind when I think about Audrina leaving town at the end of Three Sixty. She runs from the life she's created for herself, both regretting and accepting that this is how things are going to be...

When my blood runs warm with the warm red wine

I miss the life that I left behind
But when I hear the sound of the blackbirds cry
I know I left in the nick of time

Well this road I'm on's gonna turn to sand
And leave me lost in a far off land
So let me ride the wind til I don't look back
Forget the life that I almost had

If I wander til I die
May I know who's hand I'm in
If my home I'll never find
And let me live again

The longer I run
Then the less that I find
Sellin my soul for a nickel and dime
Breakin my heart to keep singing these rhymes
And losin again

The longer I run
Then the less that I find
Sellin my soul for a nickel and dime
Breakin my heart to keep singing these rhymes
And losin again

Tell my brother please not to look for me
I ain't the man that I used to be
But if my savior comes could you let him know
I've gone away for to save my soul

If I wander til I die
May I know who's hand I'm in
If my home I'll never find
And let me live again

The longer I run
Then the less that I find
Sellin my soul for a nickel and dime
Breakin my heart to keep singing these rhymes
And losin again

The longer I run
Then the less that I find
Sellin my soul for a nickel and dime
Breakin my heart to keep singing these rhymes
And losin again

Losing again

The longer I run
I'm losing again
Losing again

There are several other songs listed on the playlist involving Audrina's feelings, but I won't be able to list them all in detail. If you want to hear any of the playlists I've made, you can find them all on SoundCloud : https://soundcloud.com/megandukebooks/sets

As for the rest of the week, I have two days left for posting about Audrina Ashby. I'm going to use one of those days to answer any questions you all might have about her character, including her possible future! Let me know in the comments, or tweet me your questions!
The final day I'll just be posting pictures and video. Thanks for following! Next week is all about Logan Brown!!!
